Legendary Argentinean band Los Enanitos Verdes announce US tour dates

Legendary Argentine rock band Los Enanitos Verdes announces dates for their 2013 summer tour in support of their 15th album –and first album in seven years– Tic Tac. The album was produced by multiple Grammy recipient Gustavo Bomer and released in April through Serafita Music. Tic Tac features special collaborations by Mexican pop singer Christian Castro in “Besos Violentos,” and musical arrangements by Ruy Folguera, Lee Thomburg and José “Papo” Rodríguez, among others.

Los Enanitos Verdes formed in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, back in 1979. It is said that the band was named after a legend of green little men appearing in a photo taken by a family of tourists while visiting the Puente del Inca in Mendoza. Since their beginnings, this ’80s rock band has captivated many generations of “rock en español” lovers. Hits like “La Muralla Verde,” “Lamento Boliviano,” “Guitarras Blancas,” “Amores Lejanos” and “Luz de Día,” among others, have now become immortal.

In 1998, they became the first Argentine rock band, and third act from that country, to sign with a US label, PolyGram. That same year they received a Grammy nomination for their albums Tracción Acústica and Néctar. They have sold over two million records in Latin America and their videos on YouTube combined reached close to 40,000 million views. They have performed all over the world and sold out stages like the Staples Center in Los Angeles last July.

Catch Los Enanitos Verdes during their US summer tour. Below are the Texas dates.

Aug. 1 – Southwest University – El Paso

Aug. 7 – House of Blues – Houston

Aug. 8 – House of Blues – Dallas

Aug. 10 – Pharr Entertainment Center – McAllen
