After a year and a half hiatus, Austin-based Latin roots band Latin at Heart is performing again. Their first show back is tonight at South Austin bar and live music venue, One-2-One Bar. To round out the bill, the new musical project from Alex Ruiz co-headlines.
Lead by vocalist and guitarist Billy Wilson, Latin at Heart’s music fuses elements of contemporary Latin pop, rock and folk with bilingual lyrics. Wilson will joined by Rick Plester (guitar), Jeff Botta(drums), Stephen Zirkel (bass) and new keyboard player Dave Madden. Latin at Heart perform at 11 p.m.
Performing before Latin at Heart tonight are recently formed Americana-rock band The Night Mothers. The group features former Del Castillo frontman Alex Ruiz. Albert Besteiro, Jeff Plankenhorn, and Elias Montemayor make up the rest of the band. The band is currently performing in support of their latest album, Sunrise. The Night Mothers perform at 9 p.m.
