San Marcos is Latinitas next target as the organization continues to support Latinas in Texas with their multi-media workshops. The non-profit will be presenting the workshop “Arte Que Captura-Fotografía” (Capturing Art Photography) on Dec. 8.
With the equipment provided, parents and their daughters can use Latin art and classic art images as inspiration for their own photography project. The work created by the pair will be posted on the Latinitas social media site. Aside from the workshop, the organization also has a series of multi-media workshops at the San Marcos library and will begin hosting afterschool programs at Travis Elementary School and Goodnight Middle School.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos located at 211 Lee Street, San Marcos, Texas. Admission is $8 per pair. You can register here or by calling 512-861-0592.
This workshop is one of many that Latinitas hosts to help empower young Latinas through media and technology enriching programs, along with summer camps and after-school programs. Latinitas is a non-profit webzine made for and by young Latinas that had its inception in a UT classroom 10 years ago.
