An Austin tradition continues Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15, at Fiesta Gardens with this year’s Diez y Seis de Septiembre Celebration. Now in its 35th year, the annual event presented by Fiestas Patrias of Austin celebrates Mexican Independence day with a weekend full of family-friendly activities, music and entertainment.
This year’s lineup includes many Austin fan favorites, with a couple of new additions like El Conjunto Baraja De Oro that have started to regularly play the Live Music Capital. Here’s a look at the schedule, which may be subject to change:
Saturday- Sept. 14:

Long story short: Another great family event at Fiesta Gardens with a wide variety of groups and genres.
Fiesta Gardens is located at 1900 E Jesse E. Segovia Street, at the intersection with Chicon Street, on the banks of Lady Bird Lake in East Austin. Admission is free until 3 p.m. and $8 per person after 3 p.m., and $10 per person after 6 p.m. on Sunday. Children under 12 are free with paying adults and all ages are welcome.
