Download: “Constelacion” mp3 by Los Destellos

October 2, 2011 By Austin Vida Staff

Four decades ago, Los Destellos, a band that started out playing new wave and rock, transformed into one of the leading chicha bands in Peru. Founded by Enrique Delgado, the band fuses cumbia Colombiana, funk, rock and guaracha to create the psychedelic Peruvian cumbia known as chicha. Although the band was formed in 1966, their music can still keep those feet moving and dancing the night away.

Now one of their most collectible LPs, Constelacion, is being reissued by Secret Stash Records. The vinyl’s side A includes five tracks which include “A Patricia”, “Constelacion” and “Onsta la Yerbita”. Six tracks make up side B and include “La Canción De Lily” and “Azuquita” among others. Order the vinyl here.
