After a brief hiatus from publishing and a very successful Free Week in January, Austin Vida is back. What better time to come back than during South by Southwest than with our annual Barrio Bash (unofficial) day party at The Sahara Lounge? With so many Latin bands in town from all over the United States and Latin America, we wanted to showcase some of our faves for our local readers without the hassle of a badge or high ticket cost.
This year we are presenting Barrio Bash on two days, the first being Friday, Mar. 14. We have artists ranging from singer-songwriters to Brazilian-inspired bass queens to a modern mambo extraordinaire. See the full lineup and set times below.
Also this year, our friends at Pachanga Latino Music Festival have provided us with a pair of tickets to giveaway to one of our Barrio Bash attendees. Pachanga takes place on May 10 at Fiesta Gardens and features Mexican pop-star Julieta Venegas, Venezuelan rockers La Vida Bohéme and more. All you have to do to enter your name in the drawing is RSVP for Barrio Bash Vol. V below. Only entries with your full name and a valid email address will be eligible to win. We will email the winner on Thursday night, May 13, the day before the showcase. Our winner must be in attendance to claim their tickets.
The Sahara Lounge is located at 1413 Webberville Rd. Doors open at noon. Music starts at 1 p.m. 21+ are welcome. No badge or wristband required. Free parking. Visit the official Facebook event page here.
