[8/21] Preview: AJ Castillo at OK Corral

August 21, 2015 By Piper LeMoine

AJ CastilloTonight, OK Corral will welcome A.J. Castillo for the very first time. The Austin native will be bringing his “New Movement” flavor of Tejano to what will likely be an adoring hometown crowd at the South Side club.

He may seem young, but he has been around the music scene his entire life, growing up in a musical family along with his talented brother Sergio. Many consider A.J. to be part of the future of Tejano, because of his innovative interpretation of classics as well as some originals, throwing in influences and techniques from other genres, including jazz and hip-hop. His high-energy stage show only adds to his appeal with a younger crowd. A.J.’s newest CD, Sin Limites, is available now.

Long story short: A night of accordion fireworks and hot cumbias, for sure! Sergio will likely be on-hand, and maybe a few other surprises. A younger crowd will pack the dance floor for nearly every song.

OK Corral is located at 629 W Ben White Blvd, at the southeast corner of Ben White and South 1st. The doors open at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $12 before 9 p.m., $15 after 9 p.m. 21+ are welcome. For more information, message OK Corral on Facebook.
