Sunday night, July 20, El Toro Negro Lounge welcomes Jess Lopez back to the stage. Lately, the south Austin club has created a buzz, hosting jam sessions and intimate shows featuring legendary performers from Tejano and Latin Jazz, and this show is no exception.
Lopez is a veteran Grammy Award-winning Tejano musician and vocalist, who currently plays the drums for Little Joe y La Familia and Austin’s own supergroup Calle Seis. He has also released a couple of solo projects, including Back on Track back in 2011.
Long story short: Great option for Tejano fans on a Sunday night. And you never know who will show up to jam.
El Toro Negro is located at 615 W Slaughter at the southwest corner of Slaughter and South 1st. Usually no cover and 21+ are welcome. Music starts at 8 p.m.
