[5/2] Preview: La Fiebre at Tejano Ranch

La FiebreFriday May 2, Totally Tejano Fridays continue with La Fiebre at Tejano Ranch. The veteran Houston-area Tejano show band returns to the Live Music Capital with its ’90s-flavored hits, new material, and a new singer.

La Fiebre began in the late ’80s, scoring hits, earning a following, and making a name for themselves with their big-time stage show and youthful attitude. The band struck gold with the single “Borracho de Besos” in 1989, a song with remains a favorite at Tejano clubs and events everywhere. Amidst personnel changes, the guys continued to record and tour throughout the ’90s and even scored a Grammy Award nomination in 1998 in the Best Tejano Album category for their Fiebre Liveā€¦En Concierto! album. In 2013, founding member and lead singer Pete Espinoza left the band for health reasons, and was replaced by new singer J. Angel Cantu.

Long story short: Solid ’90s-era Tejano group with a sound similar to La Mafia or La Sombra and is excited about a new voice and renewed energy.
