Tonight the party returns to Tejano Ranch with Yayo Castillo y Grupo Rumores and Los Amigos ASG. The veteran Austin favorites never disappoint and the Cuero-based up-and-comers are sure to delight the crowd with their charisma and infectious energy.
Rumores has been a fixture in the Austin Tejano music scene for decades, playing at countless venues, festivals, jamaicas, and private parties. Bandleader and lead vocalist Yayo Castillo is known for his strong, smooth voice and showmanship. Along with longtime band members Ignacio “Iceman” Castillo (saxophone/vocals) and David Guzman (guitar), Rumores is a tight, talented group that always puts on a great show.
Los Amigos ASG are a hard-working group from the Victoria area and is carrying on the tradition of the Tejano band Los Amigos, while adding their own style and flavor for the next generation. Featuring former members of La Sombra, Los Amigos ASG are known for high-energy stage show and diverse style, drawing on influences from traditional conjunto to Tejano to hip-hop and reggaeton. Nominated in the Best New Artist-Group category at the 2013 Tejano Music Awards, the eight-piece ensemble is gaining attention and recognition from fans and industry professionals alike.
Long story short: Party time. Both groups are full of great performers who really engage the crowd and keep the dance floor packed.
