Tonight, Dec. 5, H&H Ballroom will host one of the biggest events of the holiday season when the Austin Tejano community comes together for the 2014 Gran Baile y Toy Drive at the southside family ballroom. The event, presented by KTXZ 1560 AM and the Austin Tejano Music Coalition, will feature some of the Live Music Capital’s favorite performers and all toys collected will go to the Brown Santa program.
While the lineup may change, artists scheduled to perform include Hugo Guerrero, Los A-T Boyz, Yayo Castillo y Grupo Rumores, and Robby G y Cañonazo. A solid Tejano lineup, to say the least. Plenty of rancheras and cumbias with accordions, keyboards, saxophones and great vocals.
Long story short: Another Tejano good time! Lots of familiar faces in a family-friendly environment for a great cause. The Coalition will also have tamales for sale.
H&H Ballroom is located at 4404 Brandt Road, just east of I-35 and between Slaughter Lane and Old Lockhart Road in South Austin. All ages are welcome, and the cover charge is $5 per person plus an unwrapped toy donation. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the party goes until 2 a.m. View the Facebook event here.
