Zuzuka Poderosa releases music video for “Seda”

Brooklyn-based Zuzuka Poderosa released new music video for single “Seda,” from her debut EP Carioca Bass. “Seda,” produced by DJ Kush Arora, is a pro-pot, anti-criminalizing song full of party beats impossible to resist. The level of energy in this video directed by Arthur Kummer, is just too contagious. Not only do we see Zuzuka dancing to the song’s hypnotic beats, going from a high-level South Bronx mansion to a medium-level netherworld, but we also see some b-boy crazy moves.

Brazil-native Zuzuka Poderosa is known for bringing the baile funk or ‘Carioca Bass’ style from the underground scene to the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Her style has often been compared to M.I.A.’s, who brought baile funk to the mainstream with her song “Bucky Done Gun” in 2005. Zuzuka released her debut EP Carioca Bass last month through Little Owl Records. She has performed at several showcases during South by Southwest (SXSW) in the past, including a performance at our Austin Vida unofficial day party in March last year. This year she will be coming back to Austin for the festival and will be performing at various SXSW showcases from Mar.14-17.
