Silvana Kane recently released her new music video for “Cruces,” the newest single from her solo debut album La Jardinera. In “Cruces,” Kane talks about human-to-human interaction and questions people’s behavior and lack of love for each other. The video shows her singing to the camera throughout the whole song, making you feel as if she were asking you for the answers to her questions. La Jardinera features new tracks “Vida Llena,” “Todo Cambia” and “La Jardinera,” among others. According to the singer all of the songs in La Jardinera contribute to the theme of the album: nature and hope. La Jardinera was released last year on Nov. 13 through the Six Degrees Records.
Originally from Lima, Peru, Kane has set herself as a world music artist. Better known as the vocalist of Vancouver-based award winning trio Pacifika, Kane gets her unique style from combining beautiful melodies with sincere, meaningful lyrics. Her inspiration comes from writing about her own experiences as well as from paying tribute to some of her biggest music idols. Among those idols are singer-songwriter Chabuca Granda, folk singer Mercedes Sosa, and Chilean folklorist and ethnomusicologist Violeta Parra. Throughout her career as an artist, she has traveled all over the world and performed at festivals featuring big names such as Adele, Feist, The Black Keys, Paramore and Beck, among others.
