Mexico City-based singer-songwriter Madame Récamier releases video for her latest single “Luz Verde” (Green Light) from her recently released new album ImaGina. The video features Madame Récamier telling a story in reverse mode, a really cool visual effect that will keep you staring at the screen and following every movement she makes. The dark and bright green lights used in the video make you get into the mood of the song, which after all is titled “Luz Verde.” There is a little bit of dancing, kissing and things flying all over the place, just enough to catch your attention.
Madame Récamier, whose real name is Gina Récamier, is one of the indie-pop artists representing the Mexican indie music scene of the moment. The combination of songs with catchy beats and her ability to write songs in both English and Spanish set her apart from the bunch. She recently released her second full-length album ImaGina, produced by Mexico, Monterrey-based artist Chetes. This new album features songs “Luz Verde,” “Quiero” and “Arriba Las Manos,” among others. Once hired as the backup singer and guitarist for Aleks Syntek, Madame Récamier has managed to put her name out there and build a loyal fan base. She has performed at the Vive Latino and Corona Capital festivals in Mexico City, as well as at South By Southwest in 2010.
