New York-based Bachata superstar Romeo Santos had his special concert The King Stays King- Sold Out at Madison Square Garden premiered on HBO Latino last night .The special –which spotlighted Santos’ first solo tour and sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden- will have an encore play on HBO Latino tomorrow at 7 p.m. The unveiling of the “second screen experience” will not only feature 2-hours of performances by Santos and artists such as Wisin & Yandel and Usher, among others, but it will also feature exclusive interviews and video commentaries by Romeo and his musicians and crew. Fans will have the opportunity to live chat during this interactive screening on Facebook.com/HBOLatino.
Romeo Santos extensive musical career goes back almost 20 years. Better known as “The King of Bachata,” his unique Latin style mixes Bachata, hip hop, Merengue, Reggaeton, and R&B. Previous to his solo career, Santos was the lead singer of the popular Bachata group Aventura and a key figure in popularizing Bachata at the international level. In 2011, he released his solo debut album Formula Vol. 1 which featured the singles “You” and “Promise.” Both singles were top rated in the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs charts. This year he was nominated for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards as well as in more than six categories at the Lo Nuestro Awards.
