San Antonio indie trio Girl In A Coma (GIAC) are coming back to Austin to perform at headlining show at Mohawk on Saturday, Feb. 9. Composed of Latinas Jenn Alva (bass) and sisters Phanie (drums) and Nina Diaz (guitar/vocals), the group is signed to rock legend Joan Jett’s Black Heart Records. The group is currently performing to support their latest release and fourth album, Exits & All the Rest.
Opening the show for GIAC on Saturday are Austin-based blues-rockers The Bluebonnets. The all female quartet began in Los Angeles and reformed again in Austin when Kathy Valentine and Dominique Davalos decided to re-introduce the band. Known for their feminine slant on the blues genre and the energy of a garage-punk band, The Blue Bonnets serve as compliment to the vibe and energy of the night’s headliners.
