Avizo is known for its big brass section and wall of sound. Nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005, Avizo is known for collaborating with a variety of different performers. Lead singer Chris Quiroga has one of the strongest voices in Tejano music, and frequently duets with other artists.
Also performing is the legendary Joe Bravo. Since beginning his career in the early 1960s with the Sunglows, Joe Bravo has been one of Tejano music’s beloved icons. Among his catalog of hits, the classic “Que Casualidad” is one of those songs that is truly part of the soundtrack of the lives of Chicanos everywhere, and continues to reside on all Tejano playlists in clubs and on radio stations.
Jimmy Edward will also be taking the stage that evening. Another legend, Jimmy’s known for his time with the Latin Breed, and also for his successful solo career as well. One of his biggest hits was “Tu Prieto,” and like other hits of the era, remains firmly in place in the hearts and minds of Tejano fans all over the country.
Long story short: Old school, horn-driven Tejano at its finest, with two of the masters of the genre.
