[3/23] Preview: Cinco Doce at Texas Club Bar and Grill

March 23, 2013 By Piper LeMoine

Tonight Austin’s own cumbia masters Cinco Doce hit the stage at the Texas Club Bar and Grill. The group has made its mark in recent years with a trademark sound that not only draws heavily from Tejano and rock, but also from other rhythmic genres like Bachata, Reggaeton, and hip-hop.

As with any up and coming group, success seems like it’s a million years away, and hard work is a must. Cinco Doce has worked very hard to put together a great stage show, a unique sound, and a hip, urban-inspired image, which has gained them a loyal following, particularly among younger listeners. Recently, the group was featured on MTV Tr3s, winning “El Headliner” for September 2012.

Bottom line: Be. Prepared. To. Dance.

The Texas Club Bar and Grill is located on Burleson Road just south of Ben White Boulevard in southeast Austin. The show starts at 9 p.m., cover is $5, and 21+ are welcome. For more information call (512) 541-7621. Keep up with the Facebook event here.
