Tonight Austin Vida is proud to present the first ever Movimiento Rockero Free Week showcase at Stubb’s. The locally based Latin Rock collective was founded in 2011 to raise awareness and support for the genre in Texas and beyond. The collective also puts out an annual compilation album in support of the groups involved. In 2013, Austin Vida is proudly partnering with Movimiento Rockero to help grow the movement and support the bands involved. What better way to start than with a Free Week showcase with Austin’s favorite group of rockeros, Vallejo.
The group was formed by Vallejo brothers A.J. (Vocals, Guitar), Alejandro (Drums), and Omar (Bass). Rockin’ since the mid ’90s,their music is a unique style of modern rock that incorporates Latin percussion and hints of blues. In the fall of 2012, Vallejo released their first new album in four years, Brothers Brew. There’s not much more than can be said about the group’s live show that hasn’t been said already, so you will just have join us at Stubb’s tonight to experience Vallejo live for yourself.
Opening tonight’s show is popular Austin-based singer-songwriter Patricia Vonne. Movimiento Rockero co-founders Vitera follow and Boca Abajo close the show, so be prepared to stay late and rock out all night.
