Tonight Calle Seis and J.R. Gomez will be performing at El New Goal Post in Round Rock. It’s going to be another great show with one of the most versatile bands in Austin, along with one of Tejano’s most versatile vocalists.
Considered by some to be a Tejano music “super group,” Calle Seis features Grammy Award-winning personnel who also perform with a few of the genre’s most popular and highly-regarded acts including Little Joe y La Familia, and Austin’s legendary Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolution.
But wait…there’s more! The seasoned virtuosos of Calle Seis play nearly everything at their shows, from Tejano to Funk to Salsa to R&B to Country…I think you get the idea. It’s not uncommon for other Tejano music stars to make surprise guest appearances at these shows as well, so you never really know who will show up.
Speaking of other Tejano music stars, Austin’s own J.R. Gomez will also be performing. The multi-talented and well-known vocalist and accordionist is a frequent guest all around town and is best known for his tenure with Tejano superstar Jay Perez and with A.B. Quintanilla and the Kumbia All Starz.
Long story short: It’s always a party when Calle Seis plays, and J.R. rocks the house every time he takes the stage. Lots of fun and great energy on the north side…for free.
