The Spanish collective known as Ojos De Brujo, which translates to “Eyes of the Wizard,” have broken with tradition and taken flamenco to another level by mixing it with hip-hop. The Barcelona-based Grammy award-winning group launched their career with their debut album Vengue in 2000. Since then they have performed around the world from Mexico to Japan and released six albums.
Ojos De Brujo already set themselves apart with their unique musical fusions, and now their music is getting revamped by DJ Al Lindrum and UrbanWorld Records. The final product: Al Lindrum Presents: Ojos De Brujo Reworked. The 13-track album features the collaboration from various producers that remix a small selection from 10 years worth of the band’s music. With each of the collaborators own interpretation anything from electronic cumbia to dub, reggae, house and funk can be heard on the album.
