Coined by the BBC as BBC as “the Galician bagpipe diva,” Cristina Pato is renowned for her dramatic live performances. Her brand of Gaita (bagpipe music) fuses together elements of Sephardic, Latin, jazz, pop, and contemporary music to create a sound and vision that is energetic, flamboyant, and virtuosic. Pato has collaborated with some of the biggest names in world, jazz, classical, and experimental music, including The Chicago Symphony, Yo-Yo Ma, The Chieftains, and the Royal Pipe Band.
