The Continental Club is one of Austin’s most iconic live music venues. It is the kind of club where both local and national legends are made. It is one of those rare clubs where people just show up regardless of who is playing each given night. If you’re a fan of Latin music and roots-rock, then tonight The Continental Club is where you want to be as Patrica Vonne and Charanga Cakewalk perform.
Latina roots-rocker Patricia Vonne is many things, but first and foremost a talented musician. Sure she has famous siblings and has been in a few movies, but she has every music credential in the book. The native San Antonian is a longtime Austin favorite and is no stranger to The Continental Club. Learn more about Vonne here. Vonne performs at 10:00pm.
Michael Ramos, the mastermind behind Charanga Cakewalk, is a musician’s musician. Ramos is a popular sideman having performed with multiple groups including the BoDeans, John Mellencamp, and The Rembrandts before starting Charanga Cakewalk. The group’s music is a fusion of traditional Latin rhythms, funk, electronic, Afro-Cuban and soul. The group is currently performing in support of their latest release, El Brown Recluse. Charanga Cakewalk perform at 12:00am.
