On Saturday, November 24, Texas Mist gets back into the game with Sunny Sauceda and his band, Todo Eso. The supercharged accordionist will bring his high-energy stage show to Austin’s newest Tejano nightspot.
After starting out in Conjunto with his father, Sauceda began his professional career with Grupo Vida before branching out on his own. He also collaborated with other accordion greats Joel Guzmán and David Lee Garza on the album Polkas, Gritos y Acordeónes, winning both the Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards for Best Tejano Album in 2005. Since releasing his first solo project, Sunny, also in 2005, the be-gloved acordeonista has released four more studio albums, including 2010’s Homenaje A Mi Padre, which was a very personal tribute to his father.
Texas Mist is located at 1115 Bastrop Highway, off the northbound side of Highway 183, just north of Hwy 71, in southeast Austin. The cover charge is $8 before 9 p.m., $10 after 9 p.m. 21+ are welcome. Visit the Facebook event here.
