On Thursday, November 15, multi-Grammy Award winner Chucho Valdés brings an all-new band to deliver his distinct Afro-Cuban jazz sound on the Bass Concert Hall stage. Born Dionisio Jesús “Chucho” Valdés Rodríguez, the Cuban-born pianist and composer has had quite the illustrious career. Valdés is the recipient of five Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards, and creditor of many doctorates. Valdés’ distinct Afro-Cuban jazz sound has garnered him critical acclaim from his peers, various media outlets and his millions of fans worldwide.
The Bass Concert Hall is located at 2350 Robert Dedman Dr. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $42 with a limited amount of $10 student tickets and discounted tickets available for UT faculty & staff, seniors and military.
