In only four years, Making Movies has expanded their mixture of rock and Afro-Cuban rhythms from Kansas City to the rest of the country. The quartet was founded by lead vocalist/guitarist Enrique Chi after his previous band broke up. With his childhood friends, Brendan Culp (drums) and Nic Kolar (bass), by his side, Making Movies took off once Juan-Carlos Chaurand (percussion/keyboard) joined the band. The bilingual group has also toured with the famous Colombian rock band Aterciopelados.
Once again, Making Movies is headed to Austin. As you may recall, they made their first appearance in the city last year and have performed in Austin Vida and Bemba Entertainment April and March showcases. They have recently released their new video for “Twenty Years,” which shows the band’s recording session for the song.
