Mexican artist Ximena Sariñana grew up around art, film and music. Once she made it big in her country, she decided she needed a bigger challenge. Sariñana has been growing in the States for years now. She signed to Warner Music Group in 2008 and released her debut Mediocre, which got her three Latin Grammy nominations. In the last three years, the singer has collaborated with artists like Jason Mraz and Omar Rodríguez-López and played in South by Southwest. In more recent news, the 25-year-old released her second album, Ximena Sariñana, August 2.
This second collection of work is also Sariñana’s English-language debut. The video for her first single, “Different” has now been released. The video was coreographed by the award-winning Michael Rooney, known for his work in Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon of Choice.” So until you get your hands on Sariñana’s new album, enjoy watching her dancing by the pool and some sweet old ladies shaking their booty.
