Hailing from San Antonio, Girl in a Coma, has come far since the band formed the night Nina Diaz (vocals/guitar) first sang for her older sister, Phanie Diaz (drums), and friend Jenn Alva (bass). Now, the indie rock trio is signed to Joann Jett’s label and has opened for Morrissey, Sia, Tegan and Sara, The Pogues and Amanda Palmer.
Girl in a Coma will be tearing the nation up next month as they headline a nationwide tour with The Coathangers and Fences. They will kickoff their tour in Austin and The Coathangers will join them in Dallas for part of the tour. Once in Minnesota, Fences will hit the road with Girl in a Coma for the remainder of the tour and help wrap it up in Houston, Texas. While on tour, the band’s fourth album, Exits & All the Rest, will be released Nov. 1 via Blackheart Records.
