Hailing from Mexico City, Fernanda Ulíbarri, a pop alternative singer, has come far since she graduated from Berklee College. It was in New York where the electro-pop band, Uli and The Gringos, was born. She soon found doors opening for her in Los Angeles, where she was invited to tour with Julieta Venegas in 2008. Five years and two albums later with The Gringos, Ulíbarri is ready to release her first solo album.
Only a couple of months after Ulíbarri’s first single, “Se Satura Mi Cabeza,” was chosen as Starbucks Mexico pick of the week in February, she gives us another sneak preview at what’s to come in the fall with her second single, “Corro.” In October, her first debut album, átOma, will be available via Cosmica Records. She will also be joining Carla Morrison, Pilar Díaz, Francisca Valenzuela and DJ Pajaro on Aug. 27 at The Troubadour in California for the Mujer. Musica. Movement. performance.
