Arthur Yoria has a split personality as a songwriter. On one hand, he has his electro-influenced English language songs with over-the-top provocative lyrics about sexual matters and violent outbursts (the newly released “I’m Gonna Take a Swing at Your Head With an Aluminum Bat” comes to mind).
Then there’s the gentler, softer Yoria who sings in Spanish and keeps the instrumentation acoustic, though who is no less honest or eccentric lyrically. We’re getting the latter Yoria on Brinca Tu Y Brinco Yo.
Brinca Tu Y Brinco Yo is the second of two EPs released this week by Yoria. It is a softer counterpoint to the harsher Thank You EP. Driven mostly by acoustic guitar, Brinca also dabbles with banjo and horns.
You can buy his Brinca Tu Y Brinco Yo EP at Yoria’s official website for $3. That’s a good deal, considering you get five gorgeous songs sung in Yoria’s sultry Spanish croon. We interviewed Yoria back when he released his full-length 281. You can read that here.
