Ximena Sariñana is Mexico’s latest cross-over pop star. She’s been on our radar for years, it’s just taken non-Latino audiences a while to find her. She grew up as an actress with a passion for music, and finally decided to take the risk and released her debut album, Mediocre, in 2008. The album got her two Latin Grammy nods as well as a U.S. Grammy nomination, a slot in the Twilight soundtrack, and the attention and respect of artists and critics alike. Her self-titled English language debut has also garnered Sariñana praise and helped her win over new fans during a recent tour with American pop singer Sara Bareilles.
Sariñana will be performing a headlining show in Austin on Monday, November 21 at The Parish. We have a pair of tickets to the show that we want to give away to one of our lucky Austin Vida readers. All you have to do to be eligible to win is go to our Facebook page and click “Like” on the link for this post. Yes, that means your name can be entered more than once. We will give the pair of tickets away on Friday, November 18. The winner will be notified via Facebook email and on our Facebook wall. Good luck!
