Federico Aubele is an Argentinian born singer-songwriter who fuses together indie, bolero, American ambient and acoustic. He has performed with incredible Thievery Corporation, who later signed Aubele to their label, Eighteenth Street Lounge Music. Those in Austin may also remember Aubele as he performed in 2006 at ACL Fest and recently at The Parish this past May.
Aubele will be returning to Austin to perform at ACL Fest on Saturday, September 17, at the Honda stage at 11:45am. Before his ACL set on Saturday, Aubele will be spinning a DJ set at Beauty Bar as part of the Official ACL Aftershows on Friday, September 16. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to see a different side of Aubele.
Opening the the night’s aftershow will be Chicago based DJ and producer Jugoe (Jude Goergen). Jugoe has been spinning dubbed-out, jazz-laden beats for over 9 years. He has released six recordings on Brooklyn-based Bastard Jazz Recordings, as well as releases on Shadow, Instinct and Funk Wax Recordings. Listen to mixes from Jugoe here.
Also performing will be Austin’s Latin gypsy-punk rock group La Guerrilla. The gypsy-punk band are one of Austin’s premiere Latin bands. Their fusion of punk, ska and South American rhythms not only make La Guerrilla one of the most original sounding bands Austin has to offer, but also make for an enjoyable live show. Listen to the music of La Guerrilla here.
Beauty Bar is located at 617 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 9:00pm. Ages 21+ are welcome. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Advance tickets for this show are available through Front Gate tickets here. Visit the official event page on Facebook here and on Do512 here.
