Sergent Garcia is an original figure in the Latin Alternative and European mestizo music scenes and is currently in North America for a long tour with a new album titled Una y Otra Vez (Time and Time Again). The pioneer in blending the Caribbean sounds of salsa, reggae, ska and dancehall with a punk attitude and continental style stops in Austin this Tuesday, September 13, at Flamingo Cantina. Sergent Garcia is a must see for fans of Ozomatli, Manu Chao and Orishas.
Co-headlining will be the incredible barrio big band from San Antonio, Bombasta. Their brand of cumbia mixed with reggae, salsa and hip hop is the perfect way to open the show. A true headliner in their own right, Bombasta will get you dancing early. For those not yet familiar with Bombasta, listen to their music on bandcamp here.
Flamingo Cantina is located at 515 East 6th Street. Doors open at 9:00pm. 21+. Advance tickets for this show are available through Brown Paper Tickets here. Visit the official event post on Facebook here and on Do512 here.
