AJ Castillo is one of Tejano musics brightest young stars. The accordionist, singer, producer and Austin native took the Tejano music industry by storm with his debut release Who I Am. Castillo is a multiple Tejano Music Award winner and recently earned a Hohner accordion endorsement. Those in Austin may be familiar with Castillo thanks to his 2009 Pachanga Fest performance. More recently, Castillo started performing with his younger brother, Sergio Castillo, adding new life and sound to his brand of “Urban Tejano.”
Castillo’s next performance in Austin is happening on Saturday, August 20, at Baby A’s across from Capital Plaza on IH-35. The performance will be a special one, as it is his second annual “Sergio & AJ Castillo 4 Kids” benefit show. The goal of the benefit is to collect school supplies to be donated to schools in Austin area schools. Monetary donations will also be accepted on the day of the event. Serigo & AJ Castillo will not be alone Saturday, as they have a whole lineup of performers scheduled throughout the day in support of the benefit. Also performing Saturday will be: Braulio Y Fuzzion, Conjunto Romo, Gilbert Alba Y Super City and Miranda Gil.
