San Antonio’s baddest barrio big band, Bombasta, return to Austin to perform a headlining show at Flamingo Cantina on Friday, Friday 16. Latin music fans need to be ready to dance all night to Bombasta’s fusion of cumbia, hip hop, reggae, salsa and Afrobeat. Bombasta perform at 12:30am.
Opening the night’s showcase is Houston based Latin fusion group, CHangoMan. Created by Faustino “Tino” Ortega, CHangoMan have been recognized by the Houston Press as one of the premeire Latin bands in Houston and are now looking to really make their presence known here in Austin. Their music combines elements of cumbia with classic rock. CHangoMan performs at 9:30pm.
Representing Austin on the night’s showcase will be El Tule. Made for the dance floor, El Tule’s music blends elements of salsa, rock, reggae, cumbia and jazz. The band is currently in the studio working on their follow up to their latest albumVol. II, conveniently titled Vol III. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on new developments.
