(11/17) Preview: El Tule & Kiko Y La Banda at Jovita’s

Jovita’s is a live music gem in South Austin. The restaurant/venue has just done some remodeling to enhance the Jovita’s experience. Jovita’s has also started booking a “Sound Is Brown” showcases that feature local Latino bands. The showcases will begin at 8:00pm and be family friendly.

Austin’s El Tule combine a multitude of sounds to create an original sound that is their won. Their musical influences stem from cumbia, Afro-Cuban, rock, merengue, salsa and reggae. Their lyrics are influenced by art, history and culture that often focuses on legends and tales of the mystical. The have  have been active for over seven years in the Austin music scene. El Tule perform at 8:00pm.

Austin based Kiko Y La Banda. Formerly of Huerta Culture, frontman Kiko Villamizar is a staple in the Latin music scene in both Austin and San Antonio. Fans of Vallenato, Boléro and Colombian cumbia will want to stay late as Kiko Y La Banda perform at 10:30pm.
