If you still haven’t been to Frank since they remodeled the place, then it is time to change that. Austin Vida will be hosting three showcases at the gourmet hot dog venue this fall, beginning this Thursday, October 6. We will be bringing you some of our favorite Latin fusion from Austin, indie rock from San Antonio and Latin Alternative from Kansas City, Missouri.
Opening the night are the ultimate party starters, Austin’s own Este Vato. The Latin fusion band are coming off a big show with Molotov at Emo’s and are ready to return to the stage. With a new line up and a hot new EP, the band keeps on winning over new audiences and proving they belong on any stage big or small. Este Vato perform at 10:30pm.
Following Este Vato is the biggest buzz band from San Antonio since Girl In A Coma, Pop Pistol. The atmospheric indie trio are signed to Texas Is Funny Records and are currently on tour with the night’s headliner, Making Movies. Pop Pistol perform at 11:15pm.
Kansas City based Making Movies are making their return to Austin as part of a headlining tour. The Latin Alternative band fuses together elements of rock, reggae, salsa and other traditional Latin rhythms to create an original sound that has been winning audiences all over the country. Learn more about the group in this interview. Making Movies perform at 12:00am.
