“Bombay” is the first single from El Guincho’s upcoming album, set for release this fall. It’s a follow-up to Alegranza, which received great critical acclaim. Written while resting in a hot hotel room in Singapore, “Bombay” (inspired by the type of gin Pablo desired that night) is said to be the popiest song El Guincho has recorded to date. It’s a nostalgic song El Guincho says the song is centered around change. “When something in your life suddenly changes and everyone around you says you’ve changed a lot, your not the same as before, although the circumstances that make you look really different and distorting their perception is how you look in the new context,” El Guincho said. Bombay was recorded in four different studios in Berlin, Madrid, Gran Canaria and Barcelona. It was mixed by Jon Gass, the Grammy-nominated sound engineer that innovated the R&B sound of Babyface and TLC.
