Noise Beat Propaganda is a four piece Indie-pop band from Mexicali, Baja California. We’re In Love, Yeah Right! is their new 4 track EP on Poni Republic. This EP is the reason I hate getting good EPs in the mail. They might as well rename EPs “teasers” because that’s what We’re In Love, Yeah Right! is. Every track is upbeat, catchy, and musically well done. Noise Beat Propaganda sings primarily in English on the EP, but there is one Spanish track. The lone Spanish track, “Sin Final”, is catchy and danceable to even those who don’t speak the language. It’s totally capable of crossing over to the indie-hipster audiences here stateside. “Sexy Neon Wine” is my favorite track on the EP. There is something about the way they worked the lyrics “jiz in my pants” that just works believe it or not. It’s a sexy, raunchy yet playfully fun song you can’t help but move to. It’s so catchy and I love it. The other tracks are two more of the same catchy, danceable indie tracks. The only thing negative I can say is the EP sounds a little “samesy” as a whole. Still, We’re In Love, Yeah Right! Is better than most American or European indie rock out right now. I couldn’t be happier that this band is from Mexico. Believe it or not, singing indie in English is a big movement right now in Mexico and its’ awesome.
