In order to keep on serving young girls in Texas, Latinitas hosts their sixth annual Fotos de mi Alma Photography auction to raise funds for their programs.
The event features the work of international photographers and allows the public to buy high quality photographs at auction prices. This year, featured photographs donated to the auction come from Colombian Claudia Madrigal, filmmaker Josh Meltzer, Mexico City’s Dulce Pinzon, Tehran’s Ramin Samandari and Austin’s own KXAN-TV photographer Charlie Harper, gallery-owner Leslie Nowlin, Kaleidoscope of Color’s Skip Hunt, Austin American Statesman photographer Deborah Cannon and Mexic-Arte featured photographer Diego Huerta.
The event will be held on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center located at 600 River St. Advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased here or $20 at the door. Money raised will help the non-profit organization continue their mission of empowering young Latinas through digital media education by providing camps, after-school programs, workshops and much more to girls in more than 10 Texas cities.
