For 10 years, Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance of Austin has joined music and dance lovers of all ages together in celebration of the beauty and creativity of Puerto Rico. On June 25 from 7:30 to 11 pm at the Marchesa Performance Hall, PRFDance will be hosting an evening filled with performances that will give you a taste of Puerto Rican musical history and raw rhythm.
Viento de Agua Unpluggled and Tata Cepeda will bring the traditional music genres “plena y bomba” straight from the street corners of San Juan and New York City to your ears. This is a Puerto Rican festival so salsa dancing is obviously going to be encouraged. DJ Bufiao will be spinning the best of “salsa gorda” for all of the hardcore salseros in Austin as well as those who just like to move.
Tickets in advance are only $12 but you will also be able to purchase them at the door for $15. This is a celebration you can’t miss if you love culture, music and dancing.
