The Pump Project Art Complex is a non-profit art space that provides working studios and gallery facilities to emerging and established artists. Pump Project artists come together to work, experiment and exhibit, actively enriching the community through new ideas, innovative projects and the creative spirit.
After showcasing their artwork from Seattle to Mexico City, artists Gerardo Arrellano and Rachelle Díaz will wrap up their Papel-Madera-Instalacion-Mural exhibit on Oct. 7 at the Flex Space at Pump Project Satellite Studios. The artists first met four years ago at the Vision Riot exhibit where Díaz served as the curator. Since then, each artist’s process has taken a similar, yet distant path. They are part of a multicultural community that shares colors and shapes to create a visual generation that characterizes and encapsulates the East side of Austin.
The Papel-Madera-Instalacion-Mural exhibit will be showcased from 8-10 p.m. Oct. 7 at Flex Space at Pump Project Satellite Studios located at 1109 Shady Lane. Music will be provided by DJ Rocco Royo (listen below). Visit the official Facebook event here.
