On the eve of their highly anticipated and self-produced new album, El Existential, Austin’s own Grupo Fantasma will be playing two CD release shows at Antone’s this weekend. That’s right, not one but two shows! That’s two opportunities to see Austin’s biggest Latin band.
On Friday, May 7, Charanga Cakewalk opens the night at Antone’s, bringing their own blend of Latin fusion before Grupo takes the stage. Charanga Cakewalk is spear headed by Michael Ramos, combining jazz, Latin and rock. Doors for this show are at 8 p.m. and Charanga Cakewalk takes the stage at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are $15 and available through Front Gate Tickets here:
In case you miss Friday’s show, Grupo Fantasma does it at Antone’s again on Saturday, May 8. Opening on Saturday will be Austin indie-Latino group, Maneja Beto. A staff favorite, Maenja Beto brings influences from indie to cumbia and whatever else they feel like bringing to their sound. Doors for Saturday’s show are at 8 p.m. and Maneja Beto take the stage at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are also available for $15 through Front Gate Tickets here:
