A hip-hop remake of the popular, star-studded 1984 charity single “We Are The World” has been circulating all over the Internet and has raised money for helping rebuild earthquake-devastated Haiti. Now, word has it that another remake is in the works, only this time en Español. Led by Quincy Jones and Emilio Estefan, the Spanish version will premiere on March 1 on the Cristina show. Be sure to check your local Univision listings for that.
The new Spanish version marks the first time the song will be recorded in another language. It will include artists such as Pitbull, Paulina Rubio, David Archuleta, Carlos Santana and of course Vicente Fernández, just to name a few. Over 30 acts total have confirmed. Even actor Andy Garcia will be featured. Like the English language counter part, all proceeds will go to rebulding Haiti through the We Are The World Foundation.
