Ocote Soul Sounds is the musical fusion between Adrian Quesada (Grupo Fantasma, Brownout) and Martin Perna (Anitbalas). We first introuduced you to Ocote Soul Sounds last summer, shortly after Pachanga Fest. Ever since then, Ocote Soul Sounds have become somewhat of an Austin staple, playing World Music Night gigs at Momo’s and one-off gigs anywhere they can play. They’re scheduled to open for Los Amigos Invisibles at Antone’s on April 2. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you are missing quite a show.

Now is your chance to learn about this band firsthand: Ocote will play at Lambert’s every Tuesday night in April, and Austin Vida is giving away a pair of tickets to each appearance. Just add us on our Facebook fan page. Ocote Soul Sounds will be playing with their full band and each show is only $5 at the door. As an added bonus, there will be a different DJ spinning every Tuesday night. Here are the list of DJs and the dates they are spinning before Ocote Soul Sounds:

April 6 – Mexican Dubwiser
April 13 – DJ Mel
April 20 – DJ Chorizo Funk
April 27 – DJ Chicken George

Doors open at 9:30 p.m. every Tuesday in April. Lambert’s is located at 401 W. 2nd Street. For more about Ocote Soul Sounds, check out our Austin Vida interview with Martin Perna here.
