Each year, the Cine Las Americas Film Festival brings together Latino and indigenous filmmakers, actors and screenwriters from across the Americas and the Iberian Peninsula. This invaluable cross-cultural exchange enriches the Austin community, connecting diverse audiences with the rest of the world.The festival screens narrative and documentary feature and short films, as well as experimental, animation and youth films in competitive and non-competitive sections. Every year, Cine Las Americas invites filmmakers, producers and distributors to bring their work to Austin and participate in this unique international event. All the films screened at the festival are subtitiled in English. The screenings take place at state-of-the-art multiplex theaters as well as local art house venues.
