Grupo Fantasma is a Grammy Award winning Latin fusion collective that formed in 2000 here in Austin. The biggest and baddest Latin band in the land, the group has worked or recorded with Maceo Parker, Sheila-E, Curt Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets, Ruben Ramos, GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan and indie-singer songwriter icon Daniel Johnston. They even served as the back up band for Prince on numerous occasions.
On Wednesday, Dec. 31, Grupo Fantasma headlines their annual New Year’s Eve concert in Austin at The Belmont. Austin-based Latin roots artist Gina Chavez opens the show. The best part? We have tickets we are giving away to some of our lucky Austin Vida readers.
The first of multiple giveaways will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below after submitting your full name and email address. Only submissions with full names will be officially entered. We will pick two winners from these submissions before 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, two days before the show. The winners will be notified via email from Austin Vida.
The Belmont is located at 305 West 6th Street. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Music starts at 8:30 p.m. All ages welcome. Advance tickets for this event can be purchased online here.
