On Saturday, Oct. 5, Peligrosa founder and frontman (of sort) DJ Orión kicks off his October residency at popular East Austin hot spot, The Volstead Lounge. While DJ Orión has been the resident DJ at The Volstead Lounge for some time now, this month his residency continues with some of his best DJ cohorts spinning alongside him. See the lineup of special guest DJs and full schedule below.

Oct. 5 – DJ Orión with Chorizo Funk

Fellow Peligrosa member Chorizo Funk will be celebrating his birthday alongside DJ Orión during ACL Fest weekend. The co-founder of the monthly party series, Body Rock, is best known for spinning the best in hip-hop and Afro-Latin. Oh, and he is also a Lords of Wax champion.

Oct. 11 – DJ Orión with DJ Mel

If you have ever been Nasty’s on Monday for hip-hop night or to popular ’80s dance party Rock The Casbah, then you’ve danced to DJ Mel. The longtime Austin staple has performed for big events at Lollapalooza and opened for multiple urban market concerts at Stubb’s.

Oct. 19 – DJ Orión with Pagame

Jaime Mayo, better known by his DJ moniker Pagame, is a longtime member of the Peligrosa All-Star DJ collective. Pagame is a purveyor of avant-garde cumbia and incorporating heavy Mexican stylings with a break beat.

Oct. 26- DJ Orión with King Louie

Luis Espada, aka King Louie, is a member of the Peligrosa All-Star DJ collective with DJ Orión. King Louie’s repertoire of electro-cumbia, hip-hop and house keep professional party goers moving all night and into the morning hours all over Austin. He is also part of the screwbia crew, Royal Highness.

The Volstead Lounge is located at 1500 E. 6th Street, adjacent to Hotel Vegas. The events take place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. 21+ are welcome. No cover.

Editor in Chief - Ian is a product of Round Rock High School and St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
