Wednesday and Thursday, Mar. 12 and 13, music fans are invited to something different from the usual South by Southwest fare at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center. The third annual Mexican American Experience, presented by Crossroads Events, is a family-friendly event that will feature performances from Grammy Award-winning legendary, veteran, and up-and-coming artists.
Wednesday features a blockbuster lineup with Little Joe y La Familia, Austin favorite Gary Hobbs, the return of Austin’s own Street People, inaugural Tejano Idol winner Ashley Borrero, and the Tiarra Girls.
Thursday will include a tribute to the brilliant accordion legend Esteban Jordan, led by Joel Guzman and Sarah Fox, including Rick Fuentes of Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolution, JR Gomez of the Kumbia All-Starz, and rising star JJ Olivarez.
Long story short: A taste of Tejano, conjunto and more from some of the best in the business during one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
