[9/7] Preview: Super Tejano Benefit for Savannah Rose at San Jose Catholic Church

Saturday, Sept. 7, Austin’s Tejano community will come together for a medical benefit for Savannah Rose at San Jose Catholic Church in south Austin. Proceeds from the event will help cover medical expenses Savannah has incurred after being attacked by a dog earlier this year.

The event will include dinner and musical performances by Austin favorites Gilbert Alba y Super City, Mariachi Relampago, Yayo Castillo y Rumores, and Grammy Award-winning Joel Guzman and Sarah Fox.

Long story short: Tejano groups, even internationally acclaimed award-winning artists, are always willing to help their communities with fundraisers and benefits such as this. Great music for a great cause.

San Jose Catholic Church is located south of Oltorf on Oakcrest near South 5th Street. Tickets are $15 per person and all ages are welcome. Dinner is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the dance starts at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 512-441-8597.
